
Tensegrity Athletics Scoring Philosophy

Traditional athletic testing often looks at isolated qualities—how high you jump, how fast you run, or how flexible you are. Tensegrity Athletics is built on a different hypothesis: athletic performance depends on how well the entire movement system works together.
The Tensegrity Score evaluates athletes across five interconnected pillars:
1. Joint & Tissue Mobility — Can the athlete access movement?
2. Dynamic Force Control — Can the athlete control movement?
3. Neuromuscular Sequencing — Can the athlete coordinate movement?
4. Force Transmission Efficiency — Can the athlete transfer force?
5. Elastic Power — Can the athlete produce and recycle force?
Each pillar contains four objective assessments worth up to five points, creating a 100-point Tensegrity Score. Rather than simply identifying strengths, the system is designed to reveal where limitations within the movement chain may be restricting overall performance.
Our central hypothesis is that athletic performance emerges from the interaction of mobility, control, coordination, force transfer, and elastic power—not from any single quality in isolation.
A powerful athlete who cannot efficiently access, control, or transfer movement may leave performance potential untapped. By measuring all five pillars together, the Tensegrity Score aims to create a clearer picture of how an athlete moves and where training should be focused.
